A karting suit should foremost provide protection. In any form of karting where being thrown out of the kart is a possibility, you will want a karting specific suit as these are abrasion resistant. These` suits are usually made out of a durable material, such as Cordura, which protects against road rash without extra bulk.If racing with a roll cage and restrained by a harness such as in Quarter Midget racing, you will instead want an SFI-Rated suit. These suits trade abrasion resistance for fire resistance as road rash is not^ a concern.Professional & International kart racing will require a CIK-FIA homologated suit.
